Celebrating the Mighty MAZU!

We are still on a high after witnessing our home-bred and part owned MAZU (Maurice ex Chatelaine) make light work of his third stakes victory and notch up his 4th consecutive win in the Darby Munro Stakes last Saturday.

Mazu was one of our first ever foals we bred here on the farm and is out of our lovely producing mare Chatelaine (Flying Spur) who we affectionately call our ‘Queen’ of the farm. Chatelaine is the dam of 5 winners  including G1 winner Headway (Charge Forward) and has now given us a 3 x Stakes winner Mazu. She has a Toronado colt at foot born last year.

Mazu was sold under the very-first Parsons Creek draft at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in 2020 for $180,000 to Triple Crown’s Chris & Michael Ward and is trained by Peter and Paul Snowden. We always held a high opinion of him so decided to retain a 25% share in him which has proven to be the right decision.

Its now full steam ahead to the $1m Group 2 Arrowfield sprint held on Championship Day 2 at Royal Randwick which will be his biggest test this preparation. We wish all parties involved the best of luck. Go MAZU!
